At Sign Expert, reachable at signexpert.ca, the privacy of our visitors and customers matters to us. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it and what we do with it. If you have a question about anything here, contact us at [email protected] or 226 504 0481.
This policy covers our online activities and applies to visitors to signexpert.ca with regard to information they share with us or that we collect through the site. It does not apply to information collected offline, in our showroom or through any channel other than this website.

Information we collect
We tell you why we are asking for personal information at the point we ask for it. If you contact us directly, we may receive your name, business name, email address, phone number, the content of your message and any artwork, photographs or files you send us, along with anything else you choose to provide.
When you submit a quote request we may ask for your contact details, your business address, the location of the proposed sign and any drawings, landlord criteria or municipal requirements relevant to the job.
How we use your information

Artwork and files you send us
Logos, vector files and photographs you send stay yours. We use them to quote, draw and manufacture your signage, and we keep a copy on file so a replacement face or a second location can be produced without starting over. We do not sell or licence your artwork to anyone else. If you want your files removed from our records, ask and we will remove them, subject to any records we have to keep by law.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where we need to in order to do the job you asked for: with our website hosting and email providers, with installers or subcontractors working on your project, with the City of London or another municipal office when we submit a sign permit on your behalf, and where the law requires it. These providers handle your information on our behalf and are expected to protect it.
Log files
Sign Expert follows the standard practice of using log files. These record visitors when they visit websites, and every hosting company does this as part of its analytics. Log files may include the internet protocol address, browser type, internet service provider, date and time stamp, referring and exit pages and the number of clicks. None of this is linked to information that identifies you personally. It is used to analyze trends, administer the site, track movement around the website and gather general demographic information.
Cookies and web beacons
Like most websites, signexpert.ca uses cookies. Cookies store information such as your preferences and the pages you visited, which lets us tailor what the site shows based on your browser type and other information. We may also use analytics tools to understand how the site is used, and these tools may set their own cookies. You can disable cookies through your browser settings. Each browser handles this differently, so check your own browser help pages for instructions.
Third party websites and services
This policy does not apply to other websites. Our site links to services we use, such as WhatsApp for messaging, and to our pages on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn. Those services have their own privacy policies and we have no access to or control over the data they collect. We recommend you read their policies before using them.
How we protect your information
We use reasonable physical, technical and organizational safeguards to protect personal information, including access controls on our systems and files. No method of transmission over the internet or method of storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information for as long as we need it to quote and complete your project, honour the warranty on your sign, and meet our record-keeping and legal obligations. When we no longer need it, we delete it or make it anonymous.
Your rights under PIPEDA
Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act gives you the following rights over the personal information we hold about you.
- Access: You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction: You can ask us to correct information you believe is inaccurate, and to complete information you believe is incomplete.
- Withdrawal of consent: You can withdraw your consent to our use of your information, subject to legal and contractual restrictions and reasonable notice.
- Deletion: You can ask us to delete your personal information where we are not required to keep it.
- Complaint: You can complain to us first, and then to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada if you are not satisfied with our response.
We respond to requests within 30 days.
Quebec residents
If you are in Quebec, Law 25 gives you additional rights, including the right to be told when we collect your information, the right to ask that it be de-indexed or destroyed and the right to data portability. Requests can be sent to the contact address below.
Visitors outside Canada
If you contact us from the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you also hold the rights given by the General Data Protection Regulation, including access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection to processing and data portability.
Children’s information
Protecting children online matters to us. We encourage parents and guardians to observe and guide their children’s online activity. Sign Expert does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe your child has provided this kind of information on our website, contact us and we will remove it from our records promptly.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page, with the date it takes effect. Changes apply as soon as they are posted, so it is worth checking this page from time to time.
